Our Recycling Process

At Generous Designs Africa (GDA), our recycling process turns plastic waste into meaningful opportunities for people and the environment. By combining community participation, innovation, and sustainability, we create eco-friendly products that support livelihoods, improve health, and protect the planet.



Step 1: Waste Management Hubs

We establish community-based waste management hubs in refugee settlements and host communities. These hubs act as central points for collecting and managing plastic waste while creating employment and skill-building opportunities for local residents.



Step 2: Mini Collection Spaces

To make recycling accessible, we set up mini collection spaces near homes, schools, and community centers. Community members bring plastic waste to these points, helping reduce pollution while earning income and actively participating in environmental conservation.


Step 3: Sorting and Shredding

Collected plastics are carefully sorted by type and quality to ensure safe and efficient recycling. The materials are then shredded into small pieces, preparing them for processing while maintaining high product standards.


Step 4: Preparing Molds for Injection

The shredded plastic is heated and prepared for injection molding. Custom molds are designed to create durable, reusable, and eco-friendly products that respond to real community needs.


Step 5: Recycling into Final Products

The recycled plastic is molded into high-quality final products, including eco-friendly menstrual health solutions and other essential items. This completes a circular system where waste becomes a valuable resource.
